Cultura Regenerating Systems – A Proof of Concept project funded by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Italian Government.
The Cultura Regenerating Systems PoC-OFF Project was funded by Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico (Ministry of Economic Development) of the Italian Government. The Project focused on developing computational tools to aid biofabrication in regenerative medicine. Project activities started from the cultūrā PoC LIFTT Project results. In fact, this project continued the cultūrā technology transfer initiative in the Intelligent Biofabrication research line at SMILIES. The objective was the creation of the Cultura Protocol Generator (CPG) to produce optimized protocols for complex biofabrication.
Key objectives included:
- CPG Computational Architecture Development. Creation of a standard, versatile multi-scale simulation orchestrator for complex biological systems. Also, integration of a Design Space Exploration system for protocol generation, supported by a parallel computing architecture.
- In-Silico Validation of CPG. Validating the CPG through simulations on progressively complex use cases derived from and validated against existing literature.
In conclusion, the development and validation of the computational model and the prototype offer promising advancements in protocol generation, providing also a thorough market analysis for the technology transfer of the results.
