Dr. Gianluca Amprimo

Postdoctoral fellow

Politecnico di Torino,
Control and Computer Engineering Department

Gianluca Amprimo has a Ph.D. in Computer and Control Engineering from Politecnico di Torino’s Department of Control and Computer Engineering, under the supervision of Prof. Gabriella Olmo. He is also a research assistant at Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche and a teaching assistant for the Object Oriented Programming course at Politecnico di Torino.

As a data-enthusiast and computer engineer, Gianluca’s primary focus is related to artificial intelligence and its application in various fields, especially health data analytics.

Currently, Gianluca is working on exploiting computer vision to develop next-generation telemedicine systems for both assessment and rehabilitation of Parkinson’s disease. During his PhD, Gianluca has developed GMH-D, a simple pipeline exploiting an RGB-Depth camera and Google Mediapipe for assessing hand impairment in Parkinson’s disease through marker-less 3D Hand Tracking.

Meanwhile, he is also actively starting to work in the computational neuroscience domain, combining computational biology with electrophysiology to explore the relations between neuronal activity states and their genomic profiles, together with Lorenzo Martini and Roberta Bardini

Explore Gianluca’s cutting-edge work in Artificial Intelligence and Parkinson’s disease. Stay updated on the latest works and projects, and do not hesitate to contact him for any information or possible collaboration.
