Federico Digiacomo
Ph.D. Student
Politecnico di Torino,
Control and Computer Engineering Department
Federico Digiacomo is an industrial Ph.D. student at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering (DAUIN) of the Politecnico di Torino, working in the SMILIES research group in collaboration with STMicroelectronics. His research focuses on the design of a robust methodology for continuous monitoring of vital parameters such as heart rate to improve driver health and safety in vehicles, using an NIR camera for remote PPG acquisition.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a specialization in eHealth, with a thesis entitled Development and Comparison of ML and DL Models for ECG Anomaly Classification in Wearable Devices. In parallel to his main research topic, he is continuing his thesis project on the collection and analysis of ECG signals to advance AI-driven methods for the automatic detection of cardiac anomalies.
