Gabriele Giarrusso
Ph.D. Student
Politecnico di Torino,
Control and Computer Engineering Department
Gabriele Giarrusso is a PhD student in the Control and Computer Engineering Department at Politecnico di Torino. His research focuses on novel AI-powered infrared spectroscopic technologies and methodologies for non-invasive vital sign monitoring, with a particular emphasis on diabetes mellitus detection via breath analysis.
He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Politecnico di Torino in 2021 and a Master’s Degree in Mechatronic Engineering (Control Technologies for Industry 4.0) from the same institution in 2023, with a research thesis on REM sleep behavior disorder diagnosis using single-channel electroencephalographic signals and machine learning strategies.
His studies have provided him with a foundational understanding of physiology, fostering an appreciation for the intricate workings of the human body. He has also deepened his knowledge in technical areas such as controller design, electronics applied to mechatronic systems, robotics, model-based software design, non-linear control technologies, sensors, and machine learning.
