Back from #DDECS2026 in #Bratislava with a few nice memories, both scientific and human.
I presented our work (see previous post) with a small “first”: it was the first conference talk I gave without the usual dress shirt… because I proudly wore the SMILIES Polito Research Group T-shirt instead 😄
Another unexpected highlight: according to my badge, Politecnico di Torino is apparently located in #Andora, my hometown. I guess I missed that campus opening! 🤔
Jokes aside, what I enjoyed the most was the opportunity to spend time with other researchers beyond the technical sessions: discussing ideas, sharing experiences, and creating bonds that will hopefully lead to future collaborations.
As my new favorite #influencer would say (Nicolò Bellarmino): conferences are not only about presenting results. They are also about meeting people, discovering different perspectives, and building the kind of connections that make research more enjoyable and more impactful.
Thanks to the DDECS community for the warm atmosphere, and to everyone I had the chance to talk with during these days!
